Evolve

" They play it safe.
And are quick to assassinate what they do not understand.
They move in packs.
Ingesting more and more fear with every act of hate on one another.
They feel most comfortable in groups.
Less guilt to swallow.
They are us....

This is what we have become.
Afraid to respect the individual.
A single person within her circumstance can move one to change, to love herself, to evolve. "

I love that quote she has at the end of the video.
She's probably right.

Each and every one of us was born with a special gift.
With a uniqueness.
The uniqueness that differentiates you and me.
The uniqueness that makes you the person you are
And the uniqueness that makes me the person I am.

But somehow along the way we have lost that gift.
We've learned to play it safe.
We've learned that the only way to cope with this society is to fit in or get out.
We've struggled to be not the different individuals but to be the similar ones.

So we start to act the same.
Talk the same.
Think the same.
Nowadays, we even dress the same.
Eat the same.
Drink the same.
Do everything the same.
And we have learned so well that we do all these without our consciousness.
We don't talk about some stuff just because no one talks about it.
We don't ask question anymore just because no one asks about it.

I look everywhere, and all I see is similarities.
I search everywhere, and all I find is fear of being different.
Because it also means receiving less acceptance.

You care too much about what others would say, would think, would feel about us.
Only because you are desperately looking for the illusive acceptance.
Only because you unconsciously ignore the real acceptance lies in you.
The acceptance you give yourself to be you.
To use the special gift you were born with.
To be the one and only you.

When you forget that real acceptance is when you forget to change.
Forget to love yourself.
And forget to evolve.

Brooklyn. New York. Dec/2009.

Dinner at Little Italy. New York City.

After a long afternoon shopping at Soho. We walked from China town to Little Italy for dinner. I can't remember the name of this restaurant. The food was okay but I guess we were too hungry to even think about what was good and bad about this place.

Breakfast in Manhattan...

Woke up in NYC sure felt a little different.
We got ready and walked around looking for a good place for breakfast.
Stopped at this Evergreen Coffee Shop Restaurant because it seemed to be busy so we assumed it could be good and we were totally right :)

If you get a chance to visit NYC, make sure you drop by here for breakfast.
It locates in the neighbor of the Theater District. 145 W 47th Street.

The waiters here were so nice and super duper quick. Don't have to wait long for your delicious breakfast to come.

Jin's breakfast.

My hot chocolate to start the day.

My blueberry pancakes...Yum!
